Save the Date! On Saturday September 13th, Odyssey Day School will be hosting two great Nature Workshops that will be held at Breakheart Reservation. Money raised will fund some wonderful additions to our Natural Playspace such as The Water Pump Play Area, The Living Willow Area, and other exciting components that will be added throughout the year. Invite your friends and family to join us for this great outing! Wild Foods for All! 9:30am to 11:30AM. All ages. Picking and eating wild foods is a sure‐fire way to get kids excited about being outside! Even in towns, we’re surrounded by dozens of easy, tasty, and abundant wild food sources. Are you curious about those berries growing behind your house? Come learn which edible wild foods grow near you, how to identify and harvest them confidently, and the amazing nutritional value of our wild plant neighbors. Your kids will happily eat greens and go home with ideas of how you can bring wild foods into your daily life! Tracking and Seeing the Animals of our Town. 1:00pm to 4:00pm. All ages. Have you seen some interesting footprints in the mud, or heard a strange sound from the trees by your school? Seen an animal but not known what it was? This is the class for you! Many fascinating species of animals live alongside us so secretly that we never know they’re there‐‐ unless we learn to read the signs they leave behind. Come learn who our neighbors are by looking at their furs, bones, tracks, and photos. Learn tips on how to catch sight of rare animals and even learn how to imitate the different funny ways that animals walk! Be ready to use all of your senses as we explore the world of the animals around us ** Please join us for a Potluck Lunch between 11:30am and 1:00pm ** Cost per Class: $25 per child (with guardian), or $50 per group (Bring friends!) Suggested donation, but no one will be turned away. RSVP to: [email protected]
