We will have two guest speakers: Dr. Roland Angst "Geometry and Semantics in Computer Vision" Prof. Eli Yablonovich "From Science to Startup: Introduction of New Technology Through Entrepreneurship" Invitation will be sent out shortly, so make sure to be on our mailing list at ethalumnisf.org/ Abstracts: "Geometry and Semantics in Computer Vision" Dr. Roland Angst, Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University, will present the two main directions of his research, namely offline and real-time 3D scene understanding. The challenges associated with 3D scene understanding will be described and we will see that especially modeling and handling the variability of objects or scenes is crucial. A newly started 3D augmented reality project for interactive storytelling will serve as a concrete and motivating application.
