Saving Americas Horses Update on Navajo horses in culvert: The horses seen trapped in the culvert after being rounded up were released by rangers. It has been reported that they did not have enough room in the trailers to haul them away. More than 1,600 horses and burros have been swept away from their Native homes as a result of US government funded roundups that the vast majority of Navajo people oppose. The Navajo Department of Agriculture (NNDA) is ignoring President Shellys roundup suspension. You can email the President of the Navajo Nation and ask him enforce his suspension of the roundups at [email protected]. The President Shelly’s (MOU) promise to suspend the roundups and oppose slaughter will become official once signed, but the horses continue to suffer in the meantime. Join us in asking Pres. Shelly to act on his promise and tell the Navajo Depart of Agriculture to stop the roundups now.
