Savvy Bike Quick Tip: We recommend intermittent braking for high speed control. When you engage your brakes, you lose traction through the turns. Extended braking will also heat up your rims, which could lead to a blow out on an extended descent. Rather than dragging your brakes and reducing your speed constantly on a descent, choose when to apply your brakes to reduce your speed, then release your brakes to allow the bike to accelerate again.
