Saw 12 years a Slave with my nearly 15yr old son last night. To say that we were both affected by that film would be an understatement. He was silent upon exiting the theater but it later provoked an extended conversation. It was an emotional and compelling account of what this man and others like him suffered through for centuries, thats why it sickens me to my core when I see some of todays youth walking around sagging, failing in school, using narcotics, or engaging in criminal acts. This particular segment of the population has no respect for themselves or for the brutal road traveled by those who preceded them. A film like this is a reminder that there is no problem of our era that we as a people cannot endure or overcome but we must have the mental fortitude and a unwavering desire to trust and believe in GOD. #Noweaponformedagainstusshallprosper
