Saw a promo for a book Id heard good things about. It was on sale for 99c on Amazon US. Id been meaning to grab it anyway, so yay. When I transferred through to Amazon Aus however, the book was at $9.99. At that price, there are very few people who will give that book from a new author a go. I bought the book anyway. Im fortunate that I can afford it and its a tax write off for me. But $9.99 for a digital book. I realise every business has costs, but surely its better to sell more books at a reduced rate and grow the reading audience for that author? I think with the romance market where the readers buy a lot of books, that kind of price point is a big stretch for someone you havent read before.
