Saw on News24 that med-aid has to pay doctors fees in full, am going to investigate. Neurosurgeon charged R30,000 and we got R12,000 back from Med.aid. Same with Orthopaedic,Anaethtist and Physician. Our costs exceed R30,000 and we hardly claim during the year, I always try to self-medicate before going to the doc! All we normally claim for is the chronic med, and that is not much, all generic meds. And 2 or 3 doc visits per year. But when you need them to pay for an op., they certainly know how to get out of it!! Have any of you tried this, or am I going to waste my time?
