Saw one of the most charming and endearing cabaret acts EVER... as performed by the one and only Lara Teeter (of ON YOUR TOES fame). I met Lara back then, when we both participated in a number of George Abbott musical events. He has spent the past couple of decades becoming a highly respected professor of musical theater at Webster U. in St. Louis. Well now he has assembled a highly entertaining, smart, funny, and deeply touching act for himself, with direction by Tim Schall, and featuring surprise Special Guest Christine Andreas. Their reunion duet of Theres a Small Hotel (has it really been 31 years?) was magical and had the room awash in tears. And Lara left a spot for his super-talented young daughter to show off her chops; her strong, distinctive voice, impressive confidence and stage presence should take this kid very far. But returning to Lara... this was a perfect cabaret evening. He entertained us by being true to himself and to his material. Next time Lara appears in town, do yourself a treat and Go! Go! Go!
