Saw our first bear this evening on our way out to the tundra. He was hunkered down in the willows not too far from the road. Later we had a lovely dinner in the Polar Rover out on the tundra. Freezing rain and wind so we stayed inside the vehicle... i.e. didnt hang out on the back deck too much. We have such a great group of quilters who joined me on this trip - the tour company managed to keep it a private group - so even though we are not quilting on this trip - we are all Quilting Sisters (and one Quilter Husband!) and off to a great start. Tomorrow - all day out on the tundra looking for BEARS!
