Saw something pretty incredible the other day... so I work with a lot of parrots and I am not scared nor try to be aggressive but there are a few I am still having very little success with and they mean biznit when it comes to biting and removing chunks of flesh, particularly a Catalina macaw and a Moluccan cockatoo.... up comes this sweet little boy and puts his hands into their cages and to my horror I rush over there to stop him.... by the time I got there I realized this little boy was petting them and they were ever so gentle with him... after asking the little boy how he did that it became very evident that this little guy had autism.... blew me away that the birds picked up on that and did not see him as a threat and more over were actively trying to interact with him....for those who dont know anything about parrots, they will actively go after weak or hurt birds and exclude them from the flock so I dont know what to think about this but it was truly incredible, Im not sure of the lesson yet but Im sure there is one.
