Saw something this morning that cleared up a question a bit for me... In Revelation 20 at the Great White Throne...when the Lord appears on the Great White Throne, the earth and the sky “disappeared,” “ran away” from His presence. Neither one reappear until chapter 21, as the new heaven and the new earth; “for the first heaven and the first earth passed away.” So it doesn’t say that God destroys the first heaven and earth and makes new ones; it says that they disappeared from John’s view. And when John says that the first heaven and first earth “passed away,” it does not necessarily mean that they ceased to exist. I still hold to the theory that the new heaven and new earth will be more like an “Extreme Makeover: Heaven and Earth Edition” type of scene. Hope that blesses you today!
