Saw the last part of The Hobbit last night. A fitting end to a series of films that marks for many the end of an era. It did not dissapoint, perhaps the battle scene a little too long at half of the films length. But every minute held the attention and the visuals were stunning. Very intimate shots and Jackson has learned to use 3D and high definition film to draw the viewer into the scene. A trip to Middle Earth that was over all to soon. The end of a year, the end of an adventure that has chronicled the last decade and the final curtain to an era. My son who has grown to a man over those years just didnt want it to end (neither did I !).
