Saw the movie Crooklyn by Spike Lee the other nite, one of my favorite movies, growing up in Brooklyn New York in the 70s and 80s. made me want to cry remembering good old days in NY. Do you remember jumping double dutch, playing handball and chinese handball at the handball court? anyone remember the Brownstones , 3 and 4 floors, your family had one or 2 floor and rented out the others? remember Fred braun shoes ? Keds and Converse hightops? remember, corned beef in the can and eating corned beef hash? remember the Good Humor ice cream truck ? Remember real italian ices from the pizza shop? cornrows, afros and big gold earrings that spelled our name? wow, please add to the list things you remember growing up in New York !
