They allowed the tribes registration dept. to get two years behind and gave tribal membership to thousands of unproven members just to get votes. They both worked in concert to kick the freedmen out, KNOWING it was illegal. That debacle has cost the tribe over $30 million and still going. They shut down the tribes housing program. Cherokees in desperate need of housing Couldnt get a loan or a house. Baker promised to rebuild the Housing Authority and start building houses again. He did that. He hasnt been able to build as many as he promised, but that because no one knew how far down Smith and Cara had taken the HA. The battle with the UKB is because Cara introduced a law declaring our Cherokee brothers to be foreigners and forcing the Cherokee Nation to take them to court over trust land. Chad signed that law and has attempted to terminate the UKB and shut down their smoke shops using state courts! Cara was head of Team Cherokee, chad smiths majority block on the council that did his bidding. When they voted to raise minimum wage unanimously, Smith vetoed it and his lackys, lead by Cara, voted against themselves to approve his veto. Smith would give NOTHING to outlanders like yourself. Baker has gotten car tags for outlanders living in Oklahoma outside our boundary. He has approved numerous changes that give outlanders more participation opportunities in our tribe. I could go on and on, but you get the point. Baker isnt perfect. He does things I disagree with. But in the end, he deserves another term to finish his work and continue to repair the damage those other two did in their twelve years in office
