Saw this great verse on my Verse-A-Day Android App... Mark 12:28-31 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” When Jesus is asked to provide the single most important commandment, He provides two. In speaking them, he numbers them first and second, but when He refers to them after speaking, He refers to them as one commandment. If we love the Lord with everything, we WILL love our neighbors as ourselves. If we do not love our neighbors as our selves, then that is a reflection of something not being right with our relationship with the Lord. It is not a call to perfection, it is a call to love both God and others. Both of these things are on the heart of God first and foremost! Seek the Lord and allow Him to show you opportunities in your life to love others, then do the unbelievable, and love them like Christ loves you.
