Saw this live and felt Snow had very quickly reverted to type after receiving so much praise for his uncharateristic and highly publicised departure from the official narrative in recent weeks. Snow seems almost wilfully oblivious to the fact that Hamas only came into existence as a direct response to brutal Israeli occupation. Yet he is unrelenting is pushing the point that if only Hamas stopped firing rockets, there would be peace! This despite the fact that even when Hamas has stopped firing rockets in the past, there are zero meaningful concessions granted to the the people of Gaza. Despite the fact that it is Israel that has routinely violated ceasefires and acted aggressively. And despite the fact that there was no peace for the entire 40year period between the systematic and unprovoked ethnic cleansing of Palestinians with 1948 Plan Dalet operation and the creation of Hamas in 1987. But the likes of Snow in the pseudo-liberal corporate mainstream arent interested in presenting this vital historical context. That would almost certainly undermine their narrative that the Palestinians share an equal burden of responsibility for their oppression and that Hamas rockets are the sole obstacle to peace.
