Saw this photo the other day on flickr... the only location given was Marine Park (which Im guessing was meant to refer to the neighborhood — not the park itself, lol). Well, every time I hear the words Brooklyn and Christmas lights juxtaposed on recent local TV newscasts, it seems as if Dyker Heights gets all the press and camera crews. But growing up in 11229, I distinctly remember that there were PLENTY of houses in the neighborhood with Christmas light displays that would give Dyker Heights a serious run for their money! I lived on Bedford Avenue not far from U, and back about 25 years ago, I vaguely remember one of the more notable such houses being on the north side of Avenue R, I think it was between East 27th and East 28th (or it might possibly have been same position on Quentin), anyway for a few Christmases it became a yearly ritual for me and my girlfriend to drive by there and see that particular light display. Anyway, I thought it might be a fun idea for a thread to see pics of 11229-area holiday lights (past *or* present), or if any Group members who still remain in 11229 want to post a pic of whatever outdoor holiday decorations they put up this year, by all means please go to town in the Comments section.
