Saw this posted in a group for strength athletes. Blown away both by the amount of support and positivity, and also by the amount of people saying things like its not a big deal and no one cares if youre gay and you posted this for attention. Coming out is a big deal, both on a social and personal level. Gays are still WIDELY discriminated against, and coming out can have massive personal and professional repurcussions. Couple that with coming out in the traditionally masculine world of elite strength sports. If your response is to tell this athlete that its not a big deal, youre an idiot.
