Say goodbye as the last brick in the fourth wall storms off in a huff... This is a fabulous idea, and Ive been excited about it for twenty years, since Bill Clinton first proposed it. Did I forget to mention that I am a former Community College instructor? From my point of view, kids get to us from disparate backgrounds and they have different skill levels. Not everyone comes out of high school ready to take college Algebra with 249 other students in a letcure hall from a professor who considers questions an annoyance, whereas I cared just as much for the students I taught there as the ones I serve now in a Catholic K-8. Last night, I had a (mercifully short) Twitter-spat (@BGinKC) with a woman who declared she didnt like it because she didnt want to pay for it. I finally told her she was already paying for it, via SNAP and subsidized childcare and rental assistance, its just that the real beneficiaries of those dollars are the employers who can get away with paying slave-wages as long as those programs exist...except I said it in 140 characters...and instead of answering or debating me, she blocked me. So I won.
