Say hello to Lacy and be prepared to meet an incredible dog! This 6 year old was reportedly found wandering a Bronx street with a “proptosed right eye”—in case you’re not sure what that means, that means that the eye was out of its socket. And its been like that for a while as its totally infected. Given that, you’d think she was more than a little testy about being handled; about having somebody poke around that eye…but not Lacy! She earned a Green rating during her medical exam for being so friendly. And she was found to be skinny and dehydrated so that when it came time for her behavioral eval, you’d think she’d be a little possessive of her food. But not Lacy! She absolutely aced her Safer eval, getting all 1’s! This is a dog who loves people no matter what! And she seems fine w. other dogs! But Lacy’s only getting some pain killers for that eye and really needs to get out asap to see a real vet who can assess the situation. ACC understands the issue and their answer is to put Lacy on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. So tonight, Lacy needs to find someone who can give her a safe, warm place to live while she gets that eye checked out and treated. She needs someone who can see what an exceptional dog Lacy is and what an exceptional contribution she will make to their family. And Lacy needs pledges to rescues to pay for her eye care.
