I have to say, after looking for at least half-time employment for almost a year, connections are really important to landing a job. This gig came to me because I shared my job search with a yoga buddy who is staying right now in Istanbul at the guest house of one of my former employers. My yoga buddy shared the news with her Director of Operations, who, after several interviews and a final lunch with the staff today, ultimately chose to hire me.
