Saying Goodbye to a Dear Friend The staff and volunteers of the SPCA are a tight-knit community. Each of us, in our own way, contributes to the goal of finding a forever home for all the homeless and abused animals that come through our gates. The loss of one of us is always sad. Today, we are saying goodbye to Dot Baisly, our cherished trainer and enrichment coordinator. Dot and her husband Alan are returning to their hometown of Boston. Funny, quirky (did you ever meet someone from Cape Cod who hates seafood???), compassionate, down-to-earth, and the greatest champion an animal could ever ask for, she’s touched the lives of all of us. Thank you, Dot, for understanding how important it is to treat animals with dignity and respect, for patiently working with the dogs AND with us, for every laugh, every happy hour celebration, every pizza shared at Friday lunches in the cottage. Those of us who have come to know you, admire you and love you. We wish you only the best of the best. It’s “till we meet again”, and not “goodbye”. xo
