Saying farewell to a fallen Soldier is never easy, but honoring their name and contribution to the legacy of defending freedom will forever live on. Honor & Remember Our American Hero Pfc. Erik Lane Jorgensen US Army Hometown: Half Moon Bay, California Erik was a 2005 graduate of Half Moon Bay High School and was attending Boise State, majoring in construction management. Erik’s infectious smile and laugh touched many, and his broad shoulders were always there for all in need to lean on. Heaven needed another hero and received the finest. Erik enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and mudding with his buddies. He was also an avid reader. He loved spending time in the great outdoors with family and friends. Erik was a member of the American Legion Post 474 in Half Moon Bay. Erik was a member of the U.S. Army, beginning basic training in Fort Jackson, S.C. He completed 91B1O (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic) Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. He was assigned to the 657th Forward Support Company, 17th Fires Brigade, in Fort Lewis, Wash., and served one year in Afghanistan doing roadside clearance. He was then assigned to Company D, 145th Forward Support Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, Boise, Idaho. Pfc.
