Sayles latest: Go For Sisters is outstanding! Ive been waiting to see it for a while now and it was worth the wait. This guy keeps making heartfelt cinema against all odds, he doesnt pull any punches. Go For Sisters is very accessible, yet naturalistic. You care about these characters, you are invested. Its also utterly charming and believable. Sayles is one of my heroes, and Im so glad to see him sticking to his guns, writing these amazing, almost novelistic movies. The guy is one of the best writers out there. Also, the acting in this is priceless! Talk about inspired casting! LisaGay Hamilton and Yolonda Ross are perfect. They are as tough as they are vulnerable, and Edward James Olmos will have you grinning from ear to ear. What a performance! What a badass! Go For Sisters is a modern border-noir, a human drama and a buddy/feelgood movie. Just a real gem on all counts. Sayles is still doing amazing work!
