Says PTI leader also met another general and on return he sought his support saying he would be leading PTI and there would be no Imran in a couple of years; Bizenjo says Imran has no political vision; ANP’s Zahid Khan slates hands that do not allow orders of information ministry to be implemented on reopening of Geo; assures Hamid Mir of full cooperation RAWALPINDI: Makhdoom Mureed Hussain, younger brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and former MPA said in November 2011, Shah Mahmood Qureshi went to Abu Dhabi for a meeting with an army general. After the meeting he asked him if he would support him as he would lead the PTI and there would be no Imran Khan in a couple of years Mureed Hussain said that his brother had also called him to Abub Dhabi. He informed him that he was in a hurry as he had to meet another general and he accompanied him to the desert where they met another general. Mureed Hussain said this while speaking in ‘Capital Talk’ of Geo News anchored by Hamid Mir. Others who took part in the discussion included ANP’s Zahid Khan, PTI’s MNA Musarrat Ahmad Zeb, chief of National Party Mir Hasil Bizenjo, PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir. Khurram Dastgir said that the same forces were behind Imran and Qadri who did not want Continuation and democracy in Pakistan. He said that Parliament had resolved not to let anyone wrest by force the trust called Pakistan. The real conspiracy was that the constitutional structure should be discredited. The pity was that a party that was given respect by the people played in the hands of others. The national economy had suffered a loss of Rs900 billion due to dharna. He revealed that the night when Parliament was stormed, the forces guarding the premises were not on duty. He said, “We will restore sanctity of the institutions. The future of Pakistan has been decided within three weeks and the role played by everyone has come to the fore. If Imran Khan returns to Parliament, this would not mean that he has succumbed to the will of Nawaz Sharif; rather he would be remembered as one who bowed down before the will of people.” Makhdoom Mureed Hussain Qureshi said that he had tried to expose him (his elder brother) three years ago. The speech of Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Parliament was a pack of lies. “I said three years back that he is the biggest liar. He is a different man in a particular circle whereas he is absolutely a different person in public. It is incomprehensible how dare he go to National Assembly today. You cannot prove wrong as right by shouting loudly. “ Zahid Khan said that the misfortune of the country was that the information minister repeatedly ordered re-opening of Geo News. There was some very powerful hand that did not let Geo be reopened. When the staff of Jang, Geo Group did not get salary, their families would be forced to starve. This was violation of human rights. He promised Hamid Mir that they (of ANP) would sit with them if things came to the pass of going to strike against the illegal closure of Geo News. Answering a question Mureed Hussain Qureshi said, “Gaddi Nasheen’ is one who does not dance on stages. I reject Shah Mahmood Qureshi as ‘Gaddi Nasheen’ of such a big shrine.” Zahid Khan said that the present conflict was between Punjabis. The small provinces had not even been consulted in this regard. Tahirul Qadri’s war was against Punjabi government. Why he stormed Parliament. Why those were being punished against whom FIRs had been registered. Javed Hasmi had played a significant role in defusing the situation. What the younger brother had said would bring a bad name to the entire Shah Mahmood family. Zahi said that Jahangeer Tareen was poised to take 24 hydel power projects in the private sector and he was going to have kickbacks. The government should itself complete these projects. He accused that two female MPAs from Malakand Agency and Batkhela had sold their funds to the JUI-F MPA from Lakki Marwat. PTI MNA Musarrat Zeb said that she did not resign as a matter of principle. “Why are other KP members not being asked to resign? I have my own agenda to set the matters right,” she said and added that Imran Khan had been encircled by people who were misguiding him. It was a pity that PTI was being run by men like Shaikh Rashid. She said that instead of bringing such people to limelight, media should give coverage to Zarb-e-Azab and IDPs. The amount being spent on dharnas should be spent on IDPs. PTI government had made no progress in Swat. Bizenjo of National Party said that Qadri was on his way out. Javed Hashmi had thrown a spanner in PTI and they were at their wits end. In fact their drama had flopped. They had no alternative but to leave the capital. He said if Imran Khan had political insight, he would have accepted the five points agreed upon and walked away with pride. But by making an alliance with Qadri he had done only harm to himself. If he returned to the NA, they would welcome him.
