Sayyadi Alameen Abubakar 11:27pm Dec 5 @@@@ SUSPECTED INSURGENT ARRESTED IN TALATA MAFARA @@@@ A man suspected of having a sinister motive was arrested by the police after he was allegedly beaten up by an angry mob in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State. A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity described the suspect as a strange figure who came to the town and began to ask for the mosque where the emir and other important personalities go to pray. The suspect, he added, pretended that he was a traveler looking for assistance as he was so financially drained that he could not go ahead with his journey. This aroused suspicion as people quickly gathered and began to beat him. But for police intervention, the suspect would have been killed, the source further stated. This event was coming on the heels of a similar attempt by one Usman Umaru who was caught red handed in Shinkafi Local Government in possession of an AK47 rifle, 23 live ammunition and a pistol. As the police arrested the suspect and took him to their station, members of the community rushed to the police station demanding the suspect be released to them so they can dispense justice to him in their own way. Their action led to a scuffle at the station which soon degenerated to a point that two policemen were injured and a man was allegedly killed. The suspect, Usman Umaru has been charged to court.
