Scan update. Cancer has stagnated. Good sign! Still no shrinkage, but Dr says my blood work and health say it all. No new cancer!!!!!! Tumor markers down from 13 to 9. They were 36 (I think) when I started, so also very good. We are at a time to make a few decisions, keep getting chemo or go off for 2 monthes and rescan. If it is stagnant it could stay that way, kind of sorta like remission. Still saying that it might be scar tissue. No way to really tell. Says pet scan wouldnt tell us much more if there is inflammation as it would pick that up. Mixed feelings. I was hoping for big empty spots but then I must remember....no metastasis, no new cancer! Those are great results! I am off the hard core chemo for now, due to neuropathy issues. So just getting gemzar...much more tolerable and smaller dose. I am maintaining my weight. So working now on getting back muscle mass. I am slowly figuring out this new way to eat, just seems I need to eat all the time. I felt good enough and our unusual weather allowed us to take an over night road trip last week. It was nice to feel good enough to enjoy this .i am reading a great book. Life over cancer. By Dr Block. This Dr makes so much sense! We are going to look at clinical trials as well but Dr says I will probably am doing to good to qualify. That is good! So I will continue with diet and juicing. Currently I try to do 2 raw juices a day. One with just apples and carrots. Then one with apples, carrots, spinach, romaine and beets. I add ginger when my platelets have improved as ginger can keep you from clotting. I also do one smoothy daily. My base is almond milk, a good natural protein powder, a green powder, flax and hemp oil, tumeric and usually organic local strawberries, blueberries, grapes and black berries. I continue to see positive results from my diet changes. I cannot emphasize enough, that you can get healthier if you will just make the changes. I will gladly share ideas. As for the toothpaste suggestions given to me last month, my hygienist says baking soda is very abrasive on your enamel. Just brush with a wet brush works fine. I water pick as well and put a drop of peppermint essential oil in the water. I love the feeling! Merry Christmas everyone. You are in my thoughts and prayers and my best Christmas gifts ever. God bless you all! Sandy and Glen
