The Scania R580 V8 engined prime puller is claimed to be the most powerful on-road truck on sale in India however, the power output was not divulged. Scania’s V8 range is available in four states of tune – 500, 560, 620 and 730 hp. With high torque at low engine speeds, the R580 is suitable to haul Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC). The P410 8×4 Tipper is an existing product but the new variant is equipped with a 20 cubic meter rock body which is made up of high strength steel from SSAB. A leader in the Indian mining segment, the P410 Tipper is equipped with the OptiCruise AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) which also comes with the option of fuel-saving Idle Shutdown feature.
