Scannews Federal Polytechnic Bida ASUP suspends strike, resumes clasess Another Federal Polytechnic, this time, Federal Polytechnic, Bida has suspended its strike and resumed full academic activities. The resumption of academic activities in Bida brings to six the number of Federal Polytechnics who have pulled out of the prolonged strike after the Federal Government resolved three key demands of ASUP. The school’s lecturers have consequently announced the suspension of its strike and resumed classes. A statement issued by the polytechnic’s spokesman Ruth Bawa said the chapter’s congress took the decision on Tuesday. Among the reasons advanced by the lecturers for calling off their strike was that the school was lagging “behind as it is yet to conclude its 2011/2012 academic session”. They also pointed out “how the nine months old strike has crippled the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the institution,” the statement said. The statement said lectures has since commenced.
