Scarlet, Sateen & Brown™ + OKU About Our Designer Englishman RICHARD ATKINS was a successful gymnast and a National Sports Acrobatics champion, winning competitions throughout Europe. Graduating with an Honours Degree in Fashion Design from the University of Central England, he then worked for the iconic and influential fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood. He later moved to New York for two years, designing High Street womens wear before returning to England, designing for several of the largest U.K. and international top retail brands which include Next, Marks & Spencer, BHS and Laura Ashley, amongst others. In 2002 Richard moved to Shanghai. It was during this time that he began working in the field of sports clothing, helping with the design and product development for watersports and surfwear brands such as Bodyglove and Quiksilver, two of the worlds largest, most recognised and established brands in the sporting goods industry in the United States and Australia; and are both pioneers in the field. Richard Atkins is the co-founder and in-house designer of OKU Oxygen, lending his expertise and extensive international design experience to the brand.
