Scattered Storms Increase BETTER RAIN COVERAGE: A slow-moving front will slowly push into Alabama over the next 24 hours, bringing an increase in the number of showers and storms we deal with across our state. It wont rain on everyone today, but scattered, perhaps numerous, areas of rain and thunder will sweep across the state. In fact, parts of west Alabama are already seeing rain this morning; we anticipate more through the day. FRONT STALLS: The aforementioned front loses its forward momentum over south Alabama, stalling out. That means our better than usual coverage of rain and storms will linger over the next few days - a few intervals of rain and thunder are likely through Friday afternoon. The front falls apart late Friday, meaning a decrease in rain chance for the weekend. WEATHER RADIO PROGRAMMING: Our July weather radio tour continues this week. We will be at the Walgreens in Prattville on South Memorial Drive, programming weather radios again, from 2:30 to 6:30. Stormtracker 12 will be there, too, and we will be broadcasting the weather LIVE. We hope to see you there! Other stops on this tour include Tuskegee and Opp. If you dont have a weather radio yet, you can buy one at a discounted price and we will program it to alert you to sound for your county. -Josh Johnson, Doppler 12 StormVision Meteorologist Facebook: Josh Johnson WSFA Twitter: @JoshWeather
