Scenario: Ethical Breeder sells nice puppy to Ethical Buyer, who posts picture of puppy on Facebook. One of Ethical Buyers friends asked in a comment if breeder has a female black and white available. A different Ethical Friend, comments on the cute puppy, and mentions that Bulldogs dont come in black & white, knowing that they do but trying to just dumb it right down & try to not sound too rude on Ethical Buyers post...Unethical Friend responds, yes they do, and goes on to prove it by posting photos of black & white Bulldogs in the commentary. Ethical Friend responds, that what was meant is that an ethical breeder wont breed non-Standard colors, and gives a brief description of why not, then asks Unethical Friend to educate herself for the sake of the Breed. Unethical Friend responds that she has educated herself, and included a link to this website where she gets her (wonderful) information. Ethical Friend is so annoyed and disgusted, and REALLY wants to retaliate, but thats not fair to Ethical Buyer who was only posting a photo of her new, adorable baby. My point is, there are an abundance of people who are proud of being steered the wrong way and there will be no point to trying to educate them because theyll just never listen. However, if we dont at least TRY, we also wont get through to the people who are willing to listen and honestly dont know any better until one of us steps up to say something. Well never win the color battle, but we can each try to play a little part in protecting the Breed we love so dearly. -Ethical Friend
