Schalke 04 has informed the GFA that KEVIN PRINCE BOATENG has sustained an injury and will be assessed by the club doctors in the coming days. “It is not the player that has written officially to the GFA, but the club, and I can confirm that the GFA has received a letter from his club Schalke 04 communicating the extent of his injury to us. We all saw him play against Chelsea this week, and he was substituted in that game all because of injury. The player is injured and they have confirmed this to us. Their team doctors will assess the extent of his injury and will communicate that to us. For now we are just waiting for their report on the injury, so we don’t know if he can make it or not. I cannot confirm if we will invite another player for the game if he fails to report so let’s wait for the report and we will take it from there.” Boateng sustained the injury when his team Schalke 04 played their second leg game against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions league at Stamford Bridge. Kevin, who is injury-prone, is yet to play for the Black Stars since he rescinded his decision to retire from international football. #RGB
