Pregame: The SMB performs it’s standard kick-step entrance into Spartan Stadium for 75,000 “revved up” Spartan Fans eager to participate in one of college footballs greatest rivalries! After State Fanfare by James Curnow, it’s “Eat Em Up” and Pregame Fight down the field! Our concert selection for the MSU students is Bang Bang, a current hit recorded by pop artists Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minag, arranged for the SMB by John Madden. After a heart-felt performance of MSU Shadows, it’s on to the Star Spangled Banner and the entrance of our great Spartan Football Team! Halftime: The very successful MSU College of Music series “Latin IS America” has made it to the Spartan Marching Band! “Latin IS America” celebrates the blending of Latin American and U.S. cultures by showcasing artistic and scholarly works that dissolve boundaries and establish fresh connections. Saturday’s MSU vs. Michigan halftime show captures 4 dramatically different musical moods in our performance. Postgame: Please join both the Spartan Marching Band and Michigan Marching Band for a shared post-game show in the stadium after the game. And, feel free to follow the bands back to Dem Hall for the annual post-game “drum-off.”
