School Calendar Hearing: Ohio law now requires school districts - TopicsExpress

School Calendar Hearing: Ohio law now requires school districts to hold a hearing for public input on the district calendar for the upcoming school year. The Lancaster City School Board will hold the public hearing for the proposed 2014-15 school calendar on Tuesday, January 28th at 5:00 pm in the large conference room at 111 S. Broad St. The proposed calendar for the 2014-15 school year is posted on the district website at lancaster.k12.oh.us. The proposed school calendar for next year has the same number of student instructional days as our calendar for this year. The starting and ending times for secondary and elementary schools are also the same as our present calendar. The first day of school for students is the corresponding date from this year. The last day of school in the proposed calendar however, is earlier than our usual last day. This is due to our building construction project as we need to begin the abatement and demolition of Medill and Tallmadge Elementary Schools by June 1, 2015.
