School Lunches Ain’t What They Used to Be And school districts across the nation apparently intend to do something about it. It appears Michelle Obama’s attempt to control our everyday lives right down to how many granules of sugar and salt your kids can consume in day, has met with some resistance. From, of all people, the wackjob school administrators who helped put her husband into office. As EAG News reports: BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – Another two bite the dust. Central New York’s Fayetteville-Manlius and Baldwinsville school districts are the latest to ditch the National School Lunch Program, which was revamped in 2010 under the guidance of First Lady Michelle Obama in an effort to fight childhood obesity. Strict limits on calories, fat, sugar, carbohydrates, sodium and other aspects of the school lunch imposed by the federal government on schools participating in the free and reduced lunch program has not only increased cafeteria costs, they’ve resulted in a drastic drop in the number of participating students. … “Grilled cheese and tomato soup was a very popular lunch,” Baldwinsville Superintendent David Hamilton told WRVO public media. “We couldn’t offer that under the new guidelines of the federal government. Spaghetti and meatballs, we couldn’t offer that either.” As a result of last year’s school lunch menu high school lunch sales in Baldwinsville plummeted from about 600 to 430 students per day. “We all want a lower carb diet. But it’s hard to sell a sub on something that looks more like a piece of paper than a sub roll,” Hamilton said. “I understand the shift but now the students aren’t opting to eat any of that. They’re stepping away entirely. (Read the rest at the link below) So they’re taking a pass on serving lunches that taste like the grass clippings after every dog in the neighborhood lifted a leg on the lawn. Never mind that high-carb lunches have been served in school cafeterias since school lunches were created, and kids in past generations were not particularly overweight. They weren’t wimps like the schoolyard fag Michelle married either, but that’s a topic for another blog. Anyway… Watch out, school superintendents. The public records are full of sad stories of people who decided resist the Obama gleichschaltung and actually think for themselves. This is, after all, how the tea party came into its recent woes. A few quinquagenarians decided to get together and express their displeasure with their moral and intellectual superiors in Washington, and BAM! Before they knew it they had an Obamabot with a thousand-yard stare writing hate mail and auditing them back to the Bronze Age. Great lesson in free-market capitalism, though. If people don’t like it, they don’t buy it. eagnews.org/looks-more-like-a-piece-of-paper-than-a-sub-roll-new-york-schools-drop-michelle-os-lunch-program/
