School Talk November 3, 2014 IDAHO HILL ELEMENTARY Idaho Hill would again like to remind parents that there is an upcoming change in our normal school schedule. On Wednesday, November 5th, students will have an early release time of 12:55 p.m. and there will be no school Thursday, November 6th due to parent/teacher conferences. Scheduling forms have gone home with your child. Please return them if you have not already done so. If you have any questions, please contact the school. 208-437-4227 There will be no school on Friday, November 7th in observance of Veterans’ Day. School will resume on Monday, November 10th. We will hold our Veterans’ Celebration on Wednesday, November 12th at 1:30 p.m. in our gym. Everyone is welcome to join us. The Idaho Hill PTO will hold a meeting in our library on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, beginning at 2:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Childcare is available. PRIEST LAKE ELEMENTARY Thank You PTO and Cavanaugh’s for a fun Halloween Party – each student met their reading goal so were awarded tickets to use at the party. Way to go. We are proud of you. Thank You to all of the people who baked and or bought baked goods with the proceeds going to Honor Flight. November 14th (noon) will be our Veteran’s Day Program. Everyone is invited. November 5th – students will be released at 1:00 – Minimum Day as Teachers prepare for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please be on time for your conference as some conferences are scheduled back to back. No School November 6th and 7th. No School November 26th – 28th – Thanksgiving Vacation. PRIEST RIVER ELEMENTARY We just finished the Red Ribbon celebration week of being drug free where the students were informed of the harmful effects of drug. This week we will be having our parent teacher conferences. We will also be holding our fall book fair this week to allow parents and children to come in and see what new books are available. Teachers are looking forward to the second quarter and working with the students to continue to make Priest River Elementary a great place. PRIEST RIVER JUNIOR HIGH Way to go students and teachers! First quarter had some great learning and growing by students and staff alike. Here’s to even more learning during second quarter! Girls who participated in PE during first quarter discussed social and emotional wellbeing using the Six Keys to Character: fairness, responsibility, citizenship, trustworthiness, caring, and respectfulness. As a final culminating activity, the girls chose to hold a food drive during October, where they were able to gather over 400 items of food to donate to the Priest River Food Bank. We have a few people that we would like to recognize for their hard work that has gone above and beyond: Mr. Landry, thank you for being the announcer at all of the home high school football games; Mr. Anselmo, thank you for volunteering your time to help coach the high school football team; Mr. Salesky, thank you for volunteering your time to coach A.A.U. basketball. There are great things happening in our district, and in our school! PRIEST RIVER LAMANNA HIGH Wednesday, November 5th is a minimum day of school. School will be released at 1:15. There will be no School Thursday and Friday. Parent teacher conferences will be Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday, November 5th conferences will be from 5:00-7:00 pm and Thursday, November 6th conferences will be from 8:00am-12:00 pm, 1:00pm-4:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms for individual parent conferences. The BLOOD DRIVE will be December 12th. Flyers and permission slips are in the office. You must be 16 years old and have a permission slip signed by your parent. You must weigh at least 120 pounds to be able to donate blood. Driver’s Ed Winter Session signups are in the office now. You must be 14 ½ years of age by November 23. Sophomores and Juniors if you are interested in taking Dual Credit courses next year or next semester please attend the NIC Dual Credit night on November 12th at NIC in CDA!!! See Mrs. Rosen for details. Girls Soccer awards will be Tuesday Nov 4th @ 6:00 @ the Priest River Event Center Boys Soccer Friday Nov 7th @ 6:00 PRLHS Cafeteria Cross Country Monday Nov 10th @ 5:00 PRLHS Cafeteria Thank you for supporting West Bonner County Schools!
