School Talk September 29, 2014 IDAHO HILL ELEMENTARY Idaho Hill Elementary would to like to invite all of our families for a Family Literacy Night on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. We will be serving a dinner of cheeseburgers, hotdogs, salad and ice cream. In addition, there will be storytelling, book sharing, and more. We hope to see you there. We would like to thank all the volunteers who attended our Volunteer Orientation. We appreciate all of your time and all you do for our school and our students. If you did not make our orientation, but would still like to volunteer, please call the school office or fill out the volunteer form which went home with your child. We would like to thank Terri English for the time she is taking to teach student volunteers the proper way to raise our flag. Students will be practicing this new skill all week. Next week, we hope to begin each day with a flag raising followed by a school wide Pledge of Allegiance. We think this will be a great way to start off the day together. PRIEST LAKE ELEMENTARY Priest Lake Elementary students are working together with the community for a food drive for the whole month of October for Priest Community Cares. Please donate non-perishable food items – a collection box is set up in the hallway at PLE. October 10th – Teacher Work Day – no students. October 17th – All School Field Trip – Greenbluff – cost is $6.00 per person. October 30th – end of 1st quarter – full day of school. October 31st – Teacher Collaboration Day – No Students. PRIEST RIVER ELEMENTARY Please ensure that your child is dressed for the changing weather. We will be kicking off our PTO fundraiser this Wednesday. The Fundraiser is put on by the Priest River Elementary PTO. Progress reports will be arriving home soon and parents will be informed of their child’s performance so far this school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail your child’s classroom teacher. Have a great day and remember to Strive for Greatness! PRIEST RIVER JUNIOR HIGH Happy fall! We are continuing to see some great things happen at PRJH. Students earned 194 Way to Go Warrior tickets this week for doing things like being on task, achieving a goal, doing well on a test, being kind to others, and many other things. Grade checks have been done, and your child will be notified if their grades are not at an acceptable level. Academics are very important, so we are offering study time starting at 7:30 in the library, and after students have eaten lunch. Teachers are also available if students visit them with their concerns. Remember, it is Homecoming week, so be sure to support our Spartans! PRIEST RIVER LAMANNA HIGH There is a FREE heart screening clinic Saturday, October 4th from 9am-4pm at the Boys and Girls Club at 200 West Mullan in Post Falls. You can register online at straightfromtheheart.us. Create your own Buzz. The 21st Grant is offering $100 to the student who designs and wins this logo contest which will create a logo for the after school program. The Theme is Create your own Buzz. To Infinity and Beyond. Entries are due by October 1st. You cannot use an exact rendering of Buzz Light year due to copyright laws.
