School-To-Prison-Pipeline Theres a rarely talked about pipeline, Thats extending and growing in these days and times. It flows from school discipline policies, That lands disproportionately, On students of minorities, and those who face various disabilities. Which inevitably; increases the dropout risks, and helps push troubled students out of classrooms, And into the systems of Criminal Justice? While the youth cling to the streets, And this has become a steady drumbeat … A life filled on empty pipe dreams, Pushed out of classrooms, and so on the streets they lean, Resulting in crimes and haraam street schemes. And so the body count rises, High profile biases, No surprises… Until wealth and power, do not pre-determine our rights, We as a people must continue to fight, To ensure the youth receive a quality education Islamic and academics give a good foundation. And Justice can never truly be blind, Same old song, just another time. Theres a rarely talked about pipeline Thats plaguing society, And this they call democracy. Just another name for . . .
