School of Education Members Attend Annual Tk20 User Conference In June 2014, Dr. Nicole Luongo and Ms. Michele Cassaro attended the annual Tk20 User Conference in Austin, Texas. Dr. Luongo is an Associate Professor in the School of Education. Ms. Cassaro is the Director of Field Placement and Certification in the School of Education. At the conference, Dr. Luongo presented “Creating Institutional Support Resources: Website & Screencasts” with Tk20 Product Consultant, Amanda Scott Born. During Dr. Luongo’s session, the participants learned how to create a university-wide Tk20 website and helpful screencasts. They examined the Saint Peter’s University Tk20 website saintpeters.edu/school-of-education/facilities-resources/tk20/ as well as instructional Tk20 screencasts. The attendees examined how to use the free screencasting site (screencast-o-matic/) that Dr. Luongo uses. Dr. Luongo and Ms. Scott Born discussed how a unit administrator can successfully work with colleagues to develop and maintain a Tk20 website that connects student, faculty, and administrative users to materials that will guide them in using Tk20. Ms. Cassaro attended several sessions that will help with her role as the field placement officer and future accreditation requirements. She learned how to better utilize the TK20 system in terms of placing field experience students. She also learned how to navigate various aspects of the field experience data collection process. Additionally, Ms. Cassaro studied the use of Tk20 reporting and data manipulation.
