Schuyler Hospital Narrowing Emergency Department Entrance MONTOUR FALLS – As construction work moves ahead for Schuyler Hospital’s $6.5 million HEAL grant project, the Main / Emergency Entrance is being temporarily narrowed on Monday, July 29, 2013. Patients and visitors to the Hospital must still use the Emergency Department entrance, but should note that the entrance-way is being significantly narrowed, as work on the new front addition to the Hospital progresses. The entrance will be accessible to the west of the doors, across from the stairs to the Montour Falls Primary Care Center. To date, new footers and flooring have been poured for the front addition to the Hospital, work has begun on the roof over the addition, and plumbing and HVAC work should begin soon. The $6.45 million project is possible thanks to a NYS Department of Health HEAL grant award. Funds will enable the hospital to deliver more efficient, higher quality care through restructuring and realigning operations, specifically in the outpatient areas of clinical laboratory, radiology, and surgical services, including the operating rooms. A new front face and public hallway is also part of the project. For more information, keep an eye on schuylerhospital.org for project updates.
