Sci-Fi Geek Question: Its interesting how difficult it is to think of positive/happy/healthy sci-fi stories (books or movies)? Perhaps its that most of those with the power/money/privelage to publicly project their visions of the future are also often scared or psychologically disturbed people? Im sure theres a number of possibilities why, but it is a weird and sad fact that I just realized. Can you list books or movies that give positive visions of the future? Visions of technological adolescence overcome and more core human values are kept as priority? Where war is unnecessary and poverty, sickness and hunger are distant memories? Where perhaps we receive help from alien life forms but not with some hidden agenda or twist that enslaves humanity? Would love to know some examples. Inspire me :)
