Science 4LS 5a Lesson Plans October October 21 - 25 Students will add pages to pictionary - a book of drawings that explains the vocabulary words for the day. Students will review - compare and contrast of butterfly and frog. Students will share center activities made in previous weeks. Complete lesson in workbook - Life Cycle of animals. Students will report on strange and unusual animals. ( optional) Science level readers will be used in group discussions. Science Project: Students will research the type of animals that live in a habitat. Write a report and include pictures. Due: November 8, 2013 Social Studies ACOS Standards 4.01 Identifying human and physical criteria used to define regions. Students will began a study of Native American regions. Map Skills, compare and contrast, find the main idea, and writing on a topic will be explained and discussed this week. Students will organize notes in a folder. Assignments and projects will be explained. Project: Students will interview an elderly person in the family - Students may use pictures, icons, and drawings to present/share. Students will report on a Native American tribe - region, culture, and how they obtain their basic needs. Teacher will model this week. Major grades due: Interview - November 15, 2013 Native American Project – Due: November 29, 2013
