Science can only make statements about what it can measure. From - TopicsExpress

Science can only make statements about what it can measure. From those measurements it derives natural laws, theories, predictions, and further experimental measurement. Ask yourself this: What phenomena in the universe are we still unable to measure? I think we can all agree that our ability to measure phenomena is in its infancy. We are just beginning to learn about the universe. In my opinion we are not able to define or measure consciousness yet. We do not know what the stuff of sensation is (for example redness). We have not solved the riddles of genetics. We dont know if species are innate to complex molecules, etc. Whole new worlds opened to us when we discovered the telescope and microscope. To say that science has made God (meaning an independent consciousness/mind) obsolete is to claim that human beings can measure all the phenomena possible in the universe with our current level of technology. This is obviously an absurd statement. by Robert Faught 09/02/2010 taken from templeton.org/belief/
