Scientist Position In Epigenetics: Toronto, ON, Canada Genetics & Genome Biology Program The Hospital for Sick Children Scientist Position In Epigenetics The Genetics & Genome Biology (GGB) Program at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Canadas largest paediatric research hospital, invites applications in the area of epigenetic regulation by non-coding RNAs. The position will be filled at the Scientist level within SickKids and cross-appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor within an academic department at the University of Toronto. SickKids is a world renowned childrens hospital with seven fully integrated research programs (sickkids.ca/Research/). The GGB Program is a leading research and training program with 30 full-time faculty members. The appointee will be located in our new 21-storey state-of-the-art Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning in the Discovery District in downtown Toronto, offering a unique environment for medical science discoveries affiliated with seven teaching and research hospitals and Canadas largest university in close proximity. Candidates must have a PhD or MD PhD, significant postdoctoral experience, a well-established record of outstanding scientific accomplishments and a well-developed research plan in the area of non-coding RNA in regulating gene expression, genome organization and stability using any model organism, with the intent of understanding mechanisms of disease and disease modification. The successful candidate will complement and enhance our existing strengths in epigenetics, genome stability and function, human genetics, genomics and model organism genetics. We expect the chosen candidate to initiate and maintain an original, competitive, and independently funded research program. The successful candidate will benefit from the interdepartmental genetics initiatives at the University of Toronto as well as the extensive research and core facilities of SickKids, the University and its affiliated institutions for cell, tissue and whole animal imaging, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.
