Scientists and others come together this week to take action on climate change. An inspiring story in this regard is Time Magazine Hero of the Environment in 2008, Søren Hermansen, who tours the US this week to tell the story of the Danish island Samsø. The island took up the challenge to power itself completely with renewable energy and succeeded in this in only one decade. Yesterday, Hermansen was a part of an expert panel at Santa Fe Community College, NM about the local impacts of climate change and how communities can take action.
