Score one for the wife. I head to the shop, needing to machine some parts, SNAP, Kaboom, POW!!! My metal lathe controller is destroyed in a puff of smoke. :( Now what??? Sunday and the parts are on the other side of the world. I glance over at the wifes treadmill setting in the middle of my shop, A flicker of hope hits me. I pull all the guards off the motor and BINGO! Luckily I remembered that treadmills run off DC motors. A quick dis-assembly, a couple of quick wiring checks, some hillbilly engineering, and the sweet purr of my lathe motor! WOO HOO! This will do until a new controller can be found, unless I can figure a way to hook up the 2hp motor to my lathe. :) :) :) Already a vast improvement over my other controller. Oh and my dear wife is out of the treadmill business, guess shell have to hit the Ozark Hills for her exercise.
