Scot Grad Programme Life Science Placements This programme is for undergraduate students in 1st, 2nd or 3rd year, who are studying a Life Science degree in Scotland. You can only apply for a maximum of three placements, so please research the roles thoroughly before choosing which ones to apply for. If you apply for more than the allocated number of placements, we will accept your first three applications only, sorted by date. The main focus will be on your CV. We ask that you apply through the ScotGrad website, and have described how to complete our online process below. It is crucial that you attach a copy of your latest CV to each application, as this is what will be reviewed. Remember, your careers service can help with CV tips and advice! How to Apply There are six sections you will need to complete for each application: 1. Eligibility Criteria This section determines if you are eligible for the placements. As long as you are an undergraduate student in 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of a Life Science degree in Scotland, please simply tick all boxes to continue. (Disclaimer: As this is targeted towards our Summer Placements in general, the eligibility criteria are described differently) 2. About You This section is pulled directly from your account. Please confirm your contact details are correct before continuing. 3. Your Education This section backs up your eligibility, adding the information about course and university into the application. It is here you are also able to add information about extra qualifications, but if you wish to describe these we would prefer that you include them in your CV only. 4. Your Work Experience In this section, we ask that you only answer the drop-down question at the top of the page. Any work experience you wish to promote to the company should be in your CV only. 5. Your Application In this section, you must enter information in the boxes to be able to continue. As the emphasis of the application is on your CV, a simple ‘Please see attached CV’ is suitable. It is important to note, however, that if you wish to write a short answer your application will still be considered. 6. Additional Information This last section is where you will attach your CV to your application. This is the final stage before submitting the application, so please ensure the CV is attached and all information is correct. You can always ‘save’ your application and return to submit it at a later time. If you have any questions or are encountering any difficulties, please email the ScotGrad team on: [email protected], and we will be in touch as soon as possible. Good Luck!
