Scotland High School Fighting Scots football team wrapped up the regular season last night with a convincing and dominating 34-13 victory over arch-rival Richmond County. It was an exciting night of football. 13,000 spectators jammed Raider Stadium to watch the most fierced rivalry in the State.Freshman phenom Zamir White scored on runs of one and 38 yards. Quadrin Williams went from four yards.Dashaun Ferguson ran an 11 yarder and threw a 51 yard bomb to Randy Leak. It was a team effort last night. On the offensive side you have to hand that big, strong offensive line a lot of credit. They moved the Richmond defense backwards and opened holes all night. Defensively, it was a team effort also. No one player can be singled out. Scotland as a team simply manhandled the once-invincible Raiders. But like I have been saying. Old-School Scots still expect Richmond to pull of a miracle win. And I guess I am still cautious about celebrating too early. But this new era of Scots do not Look Up to that Raider magic. Richmond years ago had that mental edge over the Scots. Now, it is the other way around. The Raiders have lost that mental edge.
