Scotland remains the most likely place to see a White Christmas this year according to leading bookmaker Coral who has Aberdeen the favourite at 3-1 in their betting for snow on Christmas Day, while Edinburgh and Glasgow are both in the market at 4-1. Britain’s bookmaker will be hoping snow does stay away on Christmas Day as they are facing a multi-million pound payout following a gamble which emerged earlier this month when forecasts suggested there was a strong chance the UK was set for a White Christmas. “Punters who have backed a White Christmas this year will be keeping a close eye on Scotland as our betting suggests that is the most likely place in the UK for snow to fall” said Coral’s John Hill. “It will be a nervy day for Britain’s bookmakers as there is a multi-million pound liability this year on there being a White Christmas,” added Hill.. Coral is also offering odds on it being the warmest Christmas Day on record, with odds of 5-1 that the 1920 high of 15.6C is exceeded. **White Christmas 3-1 Aberdeen, 4-1 Edinburgh, Glasgow, 7-1 Newcastle, 8-1 Belfast, Manchester, Nottingham 9-1 Birmingham, London, 10-1 Bristol, Cardiff **Warmest Christmas day on record 5-1 15.6C (60.1F) in Killerton, Devon, in 1920, is the hottest Christmas Day on record
